Description

HI-THERM®BC-346-A is a specially formulated, high temperature varnish, which can be used in a wide range of dip

and bake applications.

Application

HI-THERM®BC-346-A has vast application ability allowing for use on Transformers, Stators, Form Wound Coils,

Random Wound Coils, Armatures and Relays.

Processing guidelines

HI-THERM®BC-346-A is suggested to have the following dip and bake cycle.

1. Preheat parts to 250°F-325°F (121°C-163°C) to remove moisture.

If thermoset tapes are used, pre-set tapes according to tape manufacturer’s recommendations.

2. Cool to 130°F-140°F (54°F-60°C).

3. Dip until bubbling stops (15-30 minutes).

4. Drain between 5-20 minutes.

5. Bake in a preheated oven at recommended time and temperature. Suggested Bake cycles:

1-2 hours at 325°F (162.8°C) or 2-3 hours at 300°F (148.9°C) or 3-4 hours at 275°F (135°C).

Times are taken after unit reaches baking temperature.

Shelf Life and Storage

Shelf life is one year from date of shipment from our plant, when stored in closed containers at 70°F/21°C or below. It is

recommended to store in dry place at 70°F/21°C or below. Protect from direct sunlight, heat, sparks and open flame.
